Last Week’s Study: The Session of Jesus Christ

Jesus is seated at the right hand of God, in the highest place of honor and authority:

  • He has all authority in heaven and on earth (Matthew 28:18; Ephesians 1:20-21)
  • He has given and is giving the Holy Spirit to His people (Acts 2:33, 38-39)
  • He gives gifts to His people (Ephesians 4:7-16)
  • He serves as our High Priest forever (Hebrews 7; Psalm 110:4)

Overview of End Times:

  • At the end of the church age the Lord Jesus will come for the church – “The Rapture” (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18)
  • The world will enter the Tribulation – rebellion will reach climax and God’s judgement will be over the whole earth (Daniel 9:24-27; 2 Thessalonians 2)
  • God’s judgement will be climaxed in the Second Coming of Jesus Christ, when He returns to earth to rule (Revelation 19:11-21)
  • Jesus will establish His 1,000 Year Kingdom on the Earth (Revelation 20:1-6)
  • Jesus will end all rebellion (Revelation 20:7-10)
  • Jesus will judge all of those not found in the Book of Life, sending them to hell forever (Revelation 20:11-15)
  • All things will be made new (Revelation 21:1-8)

This Weeks Study: Jesus Will Return

5. Jesus will be worshipped by all

  • Revelation 21:23-27 – inhabitants of the new heavens and new earth
  • Philippians 2:9-11 – by ALL – every knee will bow, every tongue will agree with God that Jesus Christ is Lord.

How should believers in Jesus respond?

  • Confident, Watchful Waiting – We should watch for Jesus’ coming with confidence and expectation.
  • Urgent Gospel Proclamation – He is coming again in judgement! Be saved!
