Prayers for the Church In Preparation for Sunday 8-4-24

Father,

You have not spared your Son but delivered him up for us all. You freely give your people all things in him. Strengthen us with your promise to provide all our needs according to your riches in glory in Christ.

May we take advantage of your invitations and promises in Christ and draw near to the throne of grace moment-by-moment to receive mercy and find grace in time of need.

Grant us boldness with reverence to come with big requests because you are more than able to meet each need. There is nothing to great for you.

May we not neglect to ask for our spiritual needs and the spiritual needs of others. We pray for the salvation of our lost family, loved ones, and the lost who will attend our church gatherings tomorrow.

We pray for our growth in grace and for the Spirit to produce his fruit in us. We pray that we would, in Christ by the Spirit, put to death the deeds of the flesh and put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge after the Creator of the New Creation’s image.

Finally, we ask, Father, that you would enable us to be diligent to guard the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. Protect the unity you have purchased by the blood of Christ and applied by the Holy Spirit.

In the name of Christ by the Spirit we make our appeal,

Amen

(Romans 8:32; Philippians 4:19-20; Hebrews 4:16; Jonah 2:9b; Acts 11:18; 2 Peter 3:18; Galatians 5:16-26; Colossians 3:5-11; Ephesians 4:1-6; Ephesians 2:13-14).

May we come with the boldness of this hymn:

Thou art coming to a King,
large petitions with thee bring,
for his grace and pow’r are such,
none can ever ask too much.
