Father,
The seed of the Word will be sown as we gather and hear your Word preached and read. Prepare our hearts to receive it.
Break up our hard hearts so the Devil will not come and snatch the Word away.
Cause the Word to be deeply rooted in our hearts so persecution will not scorch us.
Guard us from the thorny cares of this world, deceitfulness of riches, and desires for other things that will choke out the Word. Cause us to behold Jesus for who he is so that all cares, riches, and other things will be seen as garbage when compared to him.
May our hearts be divinely prepared to hear the Word, accept it with joy, and bear much fruit, which is really the Holy Spirit producing his fruit in us.
For the sake of our Blessed Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who died to redeem us for you,
