What My God Says

But Micaiah said, “As the LORD lives, what my God says, that I will speak.” (2 Chronicles 18:13)

This is a most excellent goal and standard. Micaiah was being pressured to lie to King Ahab to keep everyone happy. But he was resolved that he could not give the king a false prophecy to keep the king happy. Instead, he had to speak the Word of God.

Whatever anyone may want to hear, may I be resolved, “…what my God says, that I will speak.” Whether it is a word of encouragement or a word of rebuke. Whether it is a word of warning or a word of promise. If my God has said it, then I want to speak it as he said. I only want to say what he says.

Whether it is popular or despised. Whether it is loved or hated. Whether it gets likes or followed. “What my God says, that I will speak.”
