Glorifying Christ – a Short Thought

Today, I was reminded of Jesus’ description of the Holy Spirit’s work in John 16:14: “He will glorify me, for he will take what is mine and declare it to you.”

The Holy Spirit glorifies Christ. This is His primary desire and work. He lifts up the name of Jesus Christ.

I was convicted by this description of the Holy Spirit’s work. This thought came into my mind: “The Holy Spirit loves to glorify Jesus. If I am to walk in fellowship with the Spirit, then the glory of Jesus must be my primary purpose and work as well.”

Whether preaching, parenting, teaching, working, learning, eating, or drinking, may we do it all for Jesus’ glory. Glorifying Jesus is what the Holy Spirit is up to, so to walk with Him this must be our purpose as well.
