Lord,
May we remember that we are stewards. We are managers. We are to manage the church. We are to care for and love the church.
However, remind us that we are managers of the church; we are not the church’s owners. You are the owner of Your church. You have purchased the church with Your own blood. You have redeemed the church for Yourself. The church is Your bride. You are our Head.
May we lovingly care for Your church. Enable us to be stewards who live consistently with the Gospel. May we faithfully instruct the church in healthy teaching, protect the church from false teaching, and lead the church by example.
As we serve in this daunting task, build us up and enable us with Your grace.
In the name of Jesus, the Great Shepherd and Redeemer,
Amen (Titus 1:4, 7, 9; Acts 20:28; Ephesians 1:7-8, 22-23, 5:22-33).
