O How He Loves Us!

Good Friday! Several centuries ago on a morning like this morning, the Lord Jesus was on trial for us and took our guilty sentence.

The religious leaders called Jesus a sinner, a blasphemer, one who speaks lies about God (Mark 14:60-64). But He is the Truth and the Righteous One, who knew no sin (John 14:6; 2 Corinthians 5:21). We are the real blasphemers and rebels, because we do not love and honor God as He deserves (Romans 3:23). So, the guilty sentence was our own. The Lord Jesus stood in our place, as our substitute, and He took our guilty sentence.

Then, He faced our death penalty – He died for our sins (1 Corinthians 15:1-4). Our sin has earned death (Romans 6:23). But the Righteous One suffered to the point of death for the unrighteous many to bring us to God (1 Peter 3:18). As Mark 15:28 says: “He was numbered with transgressors.” He died amongst thieves for us – robbers of worship that God deserves.

The Lord Jesus loves us! As John 13:1 says, “having loved His own who were in the world, He loved them to the end.” He loved us enough to die for us!

Do you know Him? Have you received His gift of eternal life?

If so, may your day be filled with loving awe at His death for you!

If you have not, receive this gift of eternal life by receiving the Lord Jesus. John 1:12 says, “…as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name…”

I pray you receive Him, so that your day and life may be filled with the joy of salvation.
