New Podcast Announcement with Link

Hello Everyone. I wanted to take a moment to share that I have started a podcast for the blog. You can go here to listen. I have recorded a series on elders that will start releasing today. Right now my hope is to release on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday of each week. That may have to change as time goes on. We will see.

For now, I will be releasing edited versions of posts from the blog and possibly some sermons. However, I hope to expand this over time.

I have ideas for interviews and series I would like to produce in the future. I am excited to see how this will all develop in God’s timing.

So, why start a podcast?

1. For equipping the church of Jesus Christ to do the work of ministry (Ephesians 4:7-16). This is especially true for the church body I am called to serve as shepherd. I believe this is my primary responsibility before God, but if others can benefit then I am thankful.

2. To expand teaching opportunities. As a pastor, I have been given the special privilege and duty to equip the saints for the work of ministry. Sunday services are part of that, but they are not enough. God has provided many platforms to utilize, and it is worthwhile to try them out.

3. To reach a wider audience. Some folks prefer listening to a podcast over reading a blog post or article. For some,, listening is more convenient or better for comprehension. That is why there is a whole industry dedicated to audio books. There are many reasons some prefer listening, but a five minute (or even 30 minute) podcast on the way to work may be better than an eight minute read elsewhere. Personally, I often prefer listening to reading.

4. For the fun of it. I love to write, and I love to teach. While a podcast does not allow for a complete teaching experience (no one present to interact with!), it is a fun way to participate in writing and aspects of teaching. The technology available makes podcast production fun rather than laborious.

Thank you for your part in this ministry. I pray the resources truly help equip each of you for serving Jesus and His Church. I hope the podcast will be another helpful tool.

By the way, if you find the blog or podcast helpful, feel free to share them with others.

Don’t forget that I welcome feedback, questions, and interaction through the contact page. I would love to hear from you!
