Church Family,
Welcome, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. We are gathered as his people to worship the Father in Spirit and in Truth. We come as a blessed people in Christ. God’s chosen people.
We are poor in spirit, for we have realized and continue to realize that we have nothing in ourselves to commend us to God. We are completely dependent upon him for our salvation and our growth in Christ.
The Lord Jesus has said, “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven” (Matthew 5:3).
We are blessed in Christ as citizens of God’s Kingdom, and it is as his blessed people that we gather.
The Lord calls us in the Word to worship him, so hear this call to worship from Psalm 147:1:
“Praise the Lord! For it is good to sing praises to our God; for it is pleasant, and a song of praise is fitting.”
