Lord,
You are holy, holy, holy. You alone are God. You are perfectly set apart from sin. You are perfect. You are unique. You are absolutely lovely in Your being. Your glory fills the earth. The earth speaks of Your power and perfection.
Mankind is not holy. We are not perfect. We are not God. We are sinners, separated from You. Awareness of Your holiness drives us to admit our sinfulness or hardens us against You. For those who recognize their sinfulness and look to You, You offer atonement. Their sin is paid for and removed through Your work on the cross. Your death is applied to them. Those who harden their hearts against Your holiness are rightly judged for their sin.
Soften our hearts to look to You alone for atonement. May our loved ones who do not know You be softened by Your holiness to turn to You. Make us aware of the work that the message of Your holiness is doing in this world. You are softening and hardening. Make us faithful to the message of Your holiness. Enable us to trust You to soften and harden as You will.
