Psalm 119:23 – A Prayer for Believers in Afghanistan

Psalms 119:23: “Even though princes sit plotting against me, your servant will meditate on your statutes.”

Father,

There is so much suffering at the hands of evil in Afghanistan. Unless you intervene this is only the beginning. We do not know Your ultimate plan in all this, but we know You are good and just. You will bring those who continually resist You to justice.

We also know that Jesus is the Good Shepherd. He is near His followers. Jesus, You have not forsaken Your people in Afghanistan. You are with them. You are pursuing them with goodness and mercy, even if experience does not seem to reflect that truth.

Would you put an end to the injustice they are facing at the hands of evil men? I pray that You would intervene through miraculous means for the protection of Your churches in Afghanistan for Your glory. I also admit I am dust; I do not understand all You are doing. So, I will trust You as You work out Your plan in Your way.

As the Taliban plots against Your people, would You enable Your servants to meditate on Your Word, trust Your promises, and have incomprehensible peace.

In the name of Jesus,

Amen
