Not By Works

Father,

I am so thankful for the GIFT of salvation. I thank You that You have not given me my wages. I have only earned death. Thank You that it is not by any works that I have done in my self-righteousness, but it is completely by Your mercy that You have saved me.

Thank You that You give this gift to the one who does not work but to the one who stops working and trusts in Jesus Christ.

I could never work hard enough or perfectly enough to earn Your favor. Thank You that I do not have to try. Thank You that You are pleased in Jesus and have accepted me in Him.

Thank You that grace is my current atmosphere and will be forever. Thank You that for all the coming ages You will show Your immeasurable riches of grace in kindness toward me IN CHRIST JESUS!

So, Father, I will not boast in anything that I do; I will only boast in Jesus Christ my Lord and Hope.

In His Name with Thanks,

Amen
