The Lord’s Model Prayer: Our Father (Matthew 6:9-13)
The following post is from a Wednesday evening small group study on the Lord's Model Prayer. This was taught on March 13, 2024. This is a transcript produced from my lesson notes, so it will read differently than a typical blog post.
I Can’t!
I was recently helping my kids with their art lesson. We were using a how-to-draw video lesson from Creature Kids. My school-aged kids and I were drawing lions, and my four year old son wanted to join in the lesson. It didn't take long for him to be frustrated. Frustration led to a tearful shout, "Daddy, I can't do it!"

Father, On this day of Christmastide, we consider the children of Bethlehem the evil Herod slaughtered. These poor … Continue reading Fourth Day of Christmas Prayer
Second Day of Christmas Prayer
Father, on this second day of Christmastide we praise you for the incarnation of Jesus Christ. Praise be to the One who humbled himself and took on our humanity. 'Since therefore the children share in flesh and blood, he himself likewise partook of the same things, that through death he might destroy the one who … Continue reading Second Day of Christmas Prayer

Not By Works
Father, I am so thankful for the GIFT of salvation. I thank You that You have not given me my wages. I have only earned death. Thank You that it is not by any works that I have done in my self-righteousness, but it is completely by Your mercy that You have saved me. Thank … Continue reading Not By Works
